Dog and Cat Boarding at Bow Wow Resort

About our dog boarding....We are a completely off leash facility. Your buddy is out running and playing with other dogs all day. They are let out of their suites at 7am, and are put back to bed at 7:30pm.,exhausted and happy. There is nap time from 12n-2pm because we all know that they will run themselves ragged and not care. Then it's back out for round two. After a fun filled day, they retire to their own private 5x6 tiled luxury suite to lounge on their doggy cot and basically pass out cold exhausted and fulfilled. Why feel bad when you go away? Now there is no need.
It is important to understand that there are always risks involved in off leash boarding. We screen our clients very carefully, but just as kids may get into spats, so can dogs. Our staff is trained to handle any situation, but if you are uncomfortable with the possibility that your dog may get injured, off leash boarding would not be for you.
We have an 8,000 sq. ft. indoor play area and a 10,000 sq. ft. outdoor play area to which there is access to all day. The door is left open, even in inclement weather, so your pals can come in and out as they please. The entire facility is climate controlled, with a filtration system that removes 99% of dander and bacteria, reducing the risk of air borne illnesses. All of the air in the building is replaced with fresh air every hour.
There is a mandatory screening at no cost to you to make sure his/her stay will be friendly and safe for everyone. It also gives you the opportunity to tour our facility and see the great things we have to offer. The vast majority of dogs adapt well and really enjoy their stay at the resort. For some dogs or puppies who have not had their immunizations, extremely old dogs with chronic illnesses, very aggressive dogs, dogs that require medication more than twice a day, dogs that do not play well with other dogs, you might consider boarding with your veterinarian, asking your pet care provider if they offer in-home care, or using a pet sitter.
You can rest assured that your furry friend will receive the best care in the industry. We designed the building with our pets in mind. The experienced staff members at Bow Wow Bathhouse Resort and Day Care are trained to recognize the warning signs of potential health problems and will contact a veterinarian if they feel it is called for. It is not, however, part of our job to diagnose or prescribe. If your dog does require veterinary care while being boarded, you should be aware that you--the pet's owner--are financially responsible for such care. Discuss, before boarding, any medication or special care your dog might need.
During their stay, it is possible that dogs might step in their stools or urine and become dirty. This can happen even in the cleanest of facilities. Also, some of the finest disinfectants available for sanitizing are not always the most pleasant smelling, and the odor may cling to your dog's coat. Bathing and grooming may be a welcome solution. We will not send home a smelly dog. Any dog we feel needs to be bathed will be, prior to check out. Owner will be responsible for the costs associated with the services. The fee for boarding includes the care of your pet, as well as the peace of mind that goes with knowing that he or she is safe and with someone you can trust.
A working partnership.... Keep in mind that a successful stay at the resort is the result of the partnership between you and our facility, working together in the best interest of your dog. As a responsible pet owner there are a few things you must attend to before bringing your dog in to board. Make certain all immunizations are current. We will be happy to discuss the immunization requirements with you. Your pet must be free of internal and external parasites including fleas, and not have been exposed to any contagious diseases.
Do not feed your dog for at least four hours prior to boarding to minimize the possibility of stomach upset. Boarding is a great alternative, but separation from the family or being in strange surroundings can produce stress in your dog. And stress can result in lowered resistance to disease and sometimes even temporary changes in behavior. Be sure to inform Bow Wow Bathhouse of any special idiosyncrasies or medical problems your dog may have (history of epilepsy or fear of thunder, etc.) that may assist in keeping your dog healthy and happy.
Dogs should be prepared psychologically for boarding. It's best, of course, to begin with a puppy as soon as immunization program is complete. (Puppies usually learn very quickly to enjoy boarding.) We offer daycare services enabling you to leave your dog for a few hours at a time. This is an excellent way to introduce your dog to boarding. After just a few visits your dog accepts a pet care facility as a normal way of life. The psychological preparation of a dog for boarding - and also for helping to develop a healthy personality - includes getting your dog used to new people and experiences (socialization). This is probably most easily accomplished by taking him or her through obedience classes, enrolling them at a dog daycare, and boarding him or her.
